Mini Valentine’s Day Chocolate Cupcakes

  1. Bake cupcakes. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions.
  2. Prepare a mini muffin pan with white liners.
  3. Add batter to liners, filling about 2/3 full. Bake and cool.
  4. Prepare icing. Prepare disposable decorating bag with tip 1A and buttercream frosting.
  5. Pipe pull-out dot on top of each cupcake.
  6. Decorate cupcakes. Melt Candy Melts candy with EZ Thin according to package instructions. Place melted candy in a custard cup.
  7. Holding cupcake at base, dip upside down into melted candy, covering all of the buttercream. Gently shake to remove excess.
  8. Turn cupcake right side up and immediately sprinkle nonpareils around the bottom edge of the candy coating.
  9. Add jumbo heart sprinkle to the top of the cupcake. Chill until firm, about 10 to 15 minutes.
