Mini Succulent Cakes

Turn any party into a sensational succulent celebration with these Mini Succulent Cakes.   1. Bake cakes. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool six cake layers for three 4 in. high cakes.

    Prepare two recipes buttercream icing following recipe instructions. Fill and stack layers. Crumb coat each cake.

  2. Tint icing. Combine Sky Blue, Moss Green and Lemon Yellow icing colors to get light green color shown. Combine Moss Green and Lemon Yellow icing colors to get medium green color shown. Combine Juniper Green and Royal Blue icing colors to get dark green color shown. Combine Rose and Violet icing colors to get light magenta color shown. Using color combinations provided, tint ½ cup decorator icing each light, medium and dark green. Tint ¼ cup decorator icing light magenta. Reserve remaining icing white.
  3. Decorate mini cakes. Prepare three decorating bags with tip 199. Fill separately with light, medium and dark green icing. Using pull-out star technique, pipe cacti in various shades of green.

    Prepare decorating bag with tip 18 and light magenta icing. Pipe small star on tops of cacti.

    Prepare decorating bag with tip 2 and white icing. Using pull-out dot technique, pipe needles on ridges of cacti.

    Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs between cacti.
