Holiday Wreath and Poinsettia Cupcakes

Great for bringing to a holiday party or family gathering, these homemade Christmas cupcakes feature a variety of piping designs and techniques, great for all levels of decorators.   1. Tint icing. Using Juniper Green icing color, tint ½ cup icing juniper green. Using Black icing color, tin 1 cup icing silver grey. Tint 1 cup icing each forest green and berry red using color combinations provided. Tint ½ cup icing evergreen using color combination provided. Combine Kelly Green and Black icing colors to get evergreen color shown. Combine Lemon Yellow and Moss Green icing colors to get forest green color shown. Combine Rose, Red-Red and Burgundy icing colors to get berry red color shown. Reserve remaining icing white.
  2. Bake cupcakes. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cupcakes in white cupcake liners.
  3. Ice cupcakes. Using spatula and alternating between white, silver grey, berry red and forest green icings, ice cupcakes smooth.
  4. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar to remaining forest green, silver grey, evergreen and juniper green icing to make medium consistency.
  5. Prepare decorating bags. Prepare two decorating bags with tip 2 and three bags with tip 352. Prepare five decorating bags separately with tips 8, 109, 2C, 2F and 104.
  6. Decorate cupcakes.Spikey Wreath Cupcake: Using spatula, stripe tip 2C bag with evergreen and forest green icing. Pipe pull-out dots around outer edge of cupcake, alternating directions.

    Rope Wreath Cupcake:Fill tip 8 bag with evergreen and forest green icing. Pipe tight rope around outer edge of cupcake. Fill tip 2 bag with berry red icing. Pipe clusters of three dots around wreath.

    Juniper Petal Wreath Cupcake:Fill tip 104 bag with juniper green icing. Pipe petals, alternating directions and overlapping over previous petal, around outer edge of cupcake.

    Drop Swirl Wreath Cupcake:Fill tip 109 bag randomly with forest green, evergreen and juniper green icing. Pipe swirl drop flowers around outer edge of cupcake, letting tip swirl icing.

    Silver Wreath Cupcake:Fill tip 352 bag with silver grey icing. Pipe overlapping leaves around outer edge of cupcake. Using tip 2 bag with berry red icing, pipe cluster of five dots on wreath.

    Stars and Dots Wreath Cupcake:Fill tip 2C bag with evergreen icing. Pipe stars around outer edge of cupcake, making sure stars are close enough to touch. Fill tip 2 bag with silver grey icing. Pipe one dot in center of each star.

    Zig-Zag Wreath Cupcake:Fill tip 2F bag with forest green icing. Pipe loose zig-zag around outer edge of cupcake. Using tip 2 bag with berry icing, pipe dots around wreath.

    Poinsettia Cupcake:Fill tip 352 bag with white or berry red icing. Pipe poinsettia on top of cupcake. Using bag with tip 2 and silver grey icing (for red flowers) or bag with tip 2 and berry red icing (for white flowers), pipe dots in center.
