  2. Tint buttercream. Tint buttercream as follows, using the color combinations provided:
    • 1 cup light pink: combine Burgundy and Violet food coloring
    • 1 cup light blue: combine Sky Blue, Royal Blue and Black food coloring
    • 3/4 cup peach: combine Creamy Peach and Black icing colors
    • 3/4 cup dark red: combine Christmas Red, Red-Red and Black food coloring
    • 3/4 cup dark violet: combine Violet, Red-Red and Black food coloring
  3. Ice cake. Prepare 4 decorating bags, separately, with light blue, peach, dark red and dark violet buttercream. Cut 1 1/4 in. off tip of each bag.
  4. Starting at bottom of cake, pipe 1 1/4 in. stripes of buttercream around cake, starting with dark violet, then dark red, then peach. Ice remaining portion and top of cake with light blue.
  5. Using the straight side of the icing smoother, smooth icing. Use notched side of icing smoother to add textured lines. Chill to set, about 2 hours.
  6. Make ganache. Using instructions in Make This Cake kit, use Bright White Candy Melts candy and heavy whipping cream to make ganache. Place ganache in icing bottle.
  7. Cover top of cake with white ganache, allowing it to drip down the sides of the cake.
  8. Add border. Prepare decorating bag with tip 1M and light pink buttercream. To pipe ruffled star, twist wrist back and forth while applying pressure to the bag. This builds the ruffle base. When done, release pressure and pull bag straight up.
  9. Repeat around the cake until border is complete.
