Beary Cute Fondant Cupcakes

These adorable Beary Cute Fondant Cupcakes are almost too cute to eat! Made using various shades of fondant, these cupcakes would be great for a first birthday party or baby shower and are sure to be a favorite for kids and adults alike.   1. Bake cupcakes.Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool cupcakes in white cupcake liners.
  2. Ice cupcakes. Using spatula, ice cupcakes smooth with vanilla icing.
  3. Make bear faces. Combine Kelly Green with touch of Lemon Yellow icing colors to get light green color shown. Combine Orange and touch of Rose and Ivory icing colors to get light orange color shown. Combine Lemon Yellow and touch of Moss Green icing colors to get light and dark lime green colors shown. Combine Teal, Kelly Green and Royal Blue icing colors to get dark teal color shown. Combine Teal and Sky Blue icing colors to get medium teal color shown. Combine Orange and Christmas Red icing colors to get dark orange color shown. Combine Rose with touch of Sky Blue icing colors to get dark magenta color shown. Tint 4 oz. fondant each light green and light orange using color combinations provided. Using Lemon Yellow icing color, tint 4 oz. fondant light yellow.

    Using fondant roller with purple guide rings, roll out light green fondant. Using 3 in. circle cutter, cut out four circles. Repeat with light orange and light yellow fondant. Set aside.

    Using fondant roller with purple guide rings, roll out 12 oz. white fondant. Cut out 12 circles using circle cutter.

    Using smooth corner of smallest square cut-out, cut ¾ in. notches in white fondant circles. Reserve fondant.

    Using damp brush, attach white fondant circles to tops of light yellow, green and orange colored circles. Set aside.

  4. Make eyes, nose and mouth. Using Black icing color and reserved white fondant, tint 1 3/8 in. ball fondant black. Roll into 48 (1/4 in.) balls.

    Using damp brush, attach 24 balls to white fondant circles as eyes (2 per cupcake). Roll 12 balls into slight ovals. Using damp brush, attach as nose (1 per cupcake). Roll remaining 12 balls into thin logs. Using damp brush, attach as mouth to tinted fondant circles (1 per cupcake).

    Roll 24 (1/16 in.) balls of white fondant. Attach to black eyes using damp brush.

  5. Make freckles. Tint ½ in. ball fondant dark lime using color combination provided. Using Kelly Green icing color, tint ½ in. ball fondant dark green. Using Pink icing color, tint ½ in. ball fondant pink.

    Starting with dark lime fondant, roll 24 (1/8 in.) balls. Attach 6 freckles to each light yellow bear cupcake, 3 per side. Repeat with dark green (light green bears) and pink fondant (light orange bears).

  6. Make ears. Tint 1 oz. fondant each dark teal, medium teal, light orange, dark orange, light lime and dark pink using color combinations provided.

    Using fondant roller with purple guide rings, roll out dark teal fondant. Using smooth side of smallest heart cut-out, cut out 12 hearts. Repeat with medium teal, light orange, dark orange, light lime and dark pink fondant.

    Attach ears to bear cupcakes using damp brush (light lime and light orange on light yellow bear cupcakes; light teal and dark deal on light green bear cupcakes; dark magenta and dark orange on light orange bear cupcakes).
