  1. Prepare and roll out dough following recipe directions. Use tree cutter to cut out shapes. Bake and cool cookies.
  2. Use pattern and black edible marker to trace center tree on cookie. Starting at top point of tree, use pattern black edible marker to draw curves inside tree.
  3. Use black edible marker and ruler to draw a horizontal line across cookie at base of center tree. Draw lines, 1/4 inch apart, on each side of center tree. Continue drawing lines above and below center tree.
  4. Prepare royal icing following recipe directions. Tint portions black, light and dark olive green, seafoam green and blue. Thin all icing except black, following package directions. Use tip 2, a cut parchment bag, and full-strength black icing to pipe outlines over traced lines and curves. Leave drawn tree shape plain.
  5. Use thinned icings in cut parchment bags to fill in sections of cookie in alternating colors. Let cookies dry overnight.

Notes

  • Royal icing takes at least 8 hours to dry so you will want to start your projects at least 1 day before serving.
