Ingredients

  • Favorite Cake Mix or Recipe

  • Decorator Preferred White Fondant, 24 oz. Fondant Icing

  • Creamy White Decorator Icing, 4 lb. Tub

  • Juniper Green Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Black Icing Color, 1 oz.

  • Royal Blue Icing Color, 1 oz. - Blue Food Coloring

  • Tools

  • Non-Stick Cooling Grid - 14.5 x 20-Inch - Cooling Rack

  • 6-Inch Round Cake Boards, 10-Count

  • Fondant Roller, 9-Inch

  • Cake Decorating Tools, 5-Piece Brush Set

  • Large Fondant Roller with Guide Rings, 20-Inch - Fondant Tools

  • Aluminum Round Cake Pans, 3-Piece Set with 8-Inch, 6-Inch and 4-Inch Cake Pans

  • Double-Sided Round Cut-Outs Set, 6-Piece

  • Bamboo Dowel Rods, 12-Count

  1. Bake cakes. Prepare cake batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool two 6 in. cake layers and three 8 in. cake layers.

    Trim 6 in. layers to 1½ in. high. Fill and stack for 3 in. high cake. Level, fill and stack 8 in. layers for 6 in. high cake.

    Prepare cakes for fondant covering and stacked construction.

  2. Cover 8 in. cake. Using 20 in. fondant roller with orange guide rings, roll out 30 oz. white fondant. Cover cake. Trim excess fondant; reserve.

    Using 9 in. fondant roller with pink guide rings, roll out reserved white fondant.

  3. Using round “C” cut-out, cut 55 to 60 rounds.
  4. Using diamond pattern and “C” cut-out, cut curved diamond from each fondant round.
  5. Using damp brush, attach to sides of 8 in. cake, offsetting each row from the row previous to from circle pattern.
  6. Cover 6 in. cake. Tint 10 oz. white fondant slate blue using color combination provided. Combine Royal Blue and touch of Black and touch of Juniper Green icing colors to get slate blue color shown. Using 20 in. fondant roller with orange guide rings, roll out fondant. Cover cake. Trim excess fondant.
  7. Decorate cake. Stack cakes. Top slate blue cake with fresh greenery.
